A MUSIC FESTIVAL with Louisville, Southern Indiana, Kentucky- Roots, Ties, and, Connections!
Join us for the most awesome day & night of music, Kentucky Bourbon, Local Beer, Food Trucks, Art, and more.... ALL to raise funds to help children with cancer, their families, and to assist in finding cures for this dreaded disease! In Memory of Louisville Musician, Actor, Artist, Kenn Parks’ late son, Philip Parks!
In 2016, Kenn lost one of his 4 sons, Philip, to Stage-4 Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer), when Philip contracted it without warning, at age 13... then, he courageously battled it for 14-months, and, devastatingly, passed away in Kenn’s loving arms, at Norton's Children's Hospital, on April 13th, 2016.
Phil was amazing in so many ways! Even in the midst of his battle against (his own) brain cancer, 5-surgeries, chemo, radiation treatments, and more, he never complained once! He always put other's first, and... Art, Music, Family & Friends, were always by his side/ a part of his journey (before, and during his cancer battle)!
In 2015 the 1st FEST-A-PHIL was held at the old BBC in St. Mathews; this included: over 20 bands, musicians, entertainers (on 2-stages), food trucks, breweries, a magician, a kid's inflatable jumper, and more, were all held for Philip Parks, to raise money to help him battle this! He was there in person then, and was so grateful for the love and support, and, he had so much fun!
In that light, we’re bringing this Music Festival back, and creating an annual event, to help everyone dealing with or battling childhood cancer!
We want ALL kids and their families to feel the support, love, and their community supporting them, holding them tightly, as they fight this together… as they do everything they can to cure their child, or, at least make their life as comfortable as possible, living as long as possible!
Please join us, for an amazing time, with incredibly talented performers, musicians, songwriters, artists, sponsors and more... be a part of making the biggest difference in the lives of those who have barely begun to live their lives, and must ofter face their end, far far too soon…
